Thank you all who participated in the Vacation Bible School this year. Ms. Mildred Lewis and her Education Committee spent many hours of preparation and we all reaped the Benefit.
Parish Picnic was a singular success this year. Even the July heat was just a cool summer breeze with the St. Jude fellowship, and the extra effort of Mrs. Barbara McLamb and the Hospitality group.

Pilgrimage to Rome and Assisi October 16-26, 2009
Join Monsignor Michael Farmer and Very Reverend Stephen E. Martin on a pilgrimage to Rome and Assisi. The cost of the pilgrimage is $3,695.00 and includes round trip airfare from Mobile, ground transportation, entrance fees, and one meal per day. The pilgrimage also includes a Papal Audience, daily Mass and exquisite meals. There will be an informational meeting on Monday, August 3, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the Marion Center at St. Ignatius Parish (3704 Springhill Avenue, Mobile). An Evening of Enrichment for Adult Learners: On Wednesday August 26, 7-8:30 p.m. at Holy Spirit Parish (Parish Center) Sr. Sara Butler, MSBT, one of the theological experts appointed by Pope Benedict XVI to the Synod on the Word of God will share with us some highlights of her experience along with some practical recommendations and ideas for parishes that emerged from the Synod. Mark you calendar now, and plan to attend. (this lecture is sponsored by The Office of Religious Education).
